Data deletion

This page is the data-deletion route referenced from our Google Play listing and Privacy Policy. Scan Anything stores your data on your own device and runs no servers of ours, so deletion is self-service and immediate — there is no backend queue for us to work through. Use the options below for the data you want gone.

1. Delete everything in one tap

Open Scan Anything and go to Settings → Clear all history. Confirm the prompt and every stored scan record — the decoded values, titles, favourites and timestamps — is erased from the app's private database on your device right away. This action is not reversible and there is no backup or trash folder to recover from, on our side or anywhere else.

2. Delete individual scan records

If you only want part of the history gone:

Deleting a record that is marked as a favourite removes it from the favourites list too. Items you exported or shared earlier live wherever you put them, not in the app.

3. Full removal by uninstalling

Uninstalling Scan Anything removes the app's private storage completely, which includes:

On recent Android versions you can also use Settings → Apps → Scan Anything → Storage → Clear data to wipe the same storage while keeping the app installed.

4. Data held by Google for advertising

The app is ad-supported by Google AdMob. Google's SDK processes technical signals — such as device identifiers, app information and performance data, and ad interaction activity — on Google's infrastructure, under Google's own retention rules. We never see or hold that data, so we cannot delete it for you. To exercise deletion and access rights over it, use Google's controls:

We will happily help you route a request to the correct Google form if you email us.

5. Send us a deletion request

Prefer to ask rather than tap? Email mostafa.alnajar.20500@gmail.com and we will action it. Because the app has no account system, please include:

Two things follow from the architecture, and we would rather state them plainly than let you expect otherwise. First, we hold no personal data of yours on a server, so for most requests our answer is that nothing remains for us to remove. Second, a request cannot reach data that only ever existed on your handset — if the app is still installed, the fastest path is the in-app deletion described above, and we may ask you to confirm you have used it. We respond to deletion requests within 30 days, and we do not charge for them.

6. What we can and cannot delete

The full description of what the app processes and why is in the Privacy Policy, and section 7 there covers retention. Conditions of use are in the Terms of Service.
